mike the tiger

Dug this out of some old photos. Last I visited Mike the Tiger in Louisiana, this was the coolest shot I got of him. He kept pacing back and fourth and I couldn't really get a great shot. I asked him to stop a minute, maybe sit back on his hind legs, open his mouth wide or something. I kept screaming, "Fierce! Fierce! Think Tyra! Hello?!?" but he just kept pacing back and fourth, back and fourth... Prima donna.

emily: post script

Big Papa's a huge longhorns fan. So, we brought out the blanket and took a couple shots just for him. But this expression just can't be beat. I saved it for a little bonus post, it didn't really fit the tone of the first few pics, but I really can't get past that expression. Greatness. 'Nuff said.

presenting: ms. emily

Say hello to Ms. Emily! 3 weeks old and a perfect little model. She rarely complained, never once refused an outfit or a pose. She likes the serious faces a bit much, but when you're as pretty as she is, no one minds really.

rub a dub, dub

Unusual, I know. Funny, I mean, hilarious? Why, yes. I could hardly contain myself whilst photographing these two. I've thought about sending this photo in to mastercard, I mean, it's perfect.

Porcelain bathtub...$450 dollars. Mr Bubble bubble bath...$3 dollars and fifty sense. Getting naked in the tub with your bestest friend? Priceless. And, just to clear the air, they're really not naked.

virginia and john

My cousin, Virginia, married John Bourland. Who'da thunk it? Well, the wedding was beautiful-held at the Rose Chapel in Fort Worth. We had great time. There's so many images that I love, wish I could post them all. Here's a handful (a large handful)!

I love all the colors found at the salon.

A sneak peak at my cousin's wedding! Still getting some film processed so I don't want to reveal too much, so here's just a couple. More to come!

keyhole

Second try: I photographed this door before, it's hanging up at the studio and it gets photographed all the time. Now usually it's just a prop or in the background, but today it gets it's moment in the spotlight as it's own original art piece. The first go round my film (you heard right) was under exposed due to operator error and his light meter. But this time, I got the shot I was looking for. And what is it with me and old stuff! I really need to get a new vision. More to come...

my pet kid

Took this picture on the highway (probably not the best idea, but I couldn't miss this picture) coming home from Art on the Square, at Southlake. Windows down, beautiful sky, hot sun, hard wind... If I wasn't driving I would of been doing the same thing, hanging my head out the window and just a smiling.

ash

I've been more busy lately in front of the computer than behind the camera, but that's not to say I ever really stop taking pictures. Here's a shot I stole of Ashley as she fell asleep on the couch. Her eyes opened after I took the shot, then closed again. The following morning she said she hadn't seen a thing.

my obsession

I read recently in Rangefinder Magazine, "...anyone shooting film today must either have an obsession with the past or some particular technical reason for using film." I am more the former than the latter, having an obsession with the medium and using it for a lot of my fine art work these days. Which is the explanation for why I haven't posted much lately. I've been working with a Mamiya RZ and shooting 120 film for a personal project entitled "12". Anyway, so sorry for the lack of new material. To bide your time, I'm posting a promo shot Josh is using for his upcoming show at the Rose Marine theater. More to come...
