shower

Even though it rained on the day of our shower, it didn't dampen anyone. I love all the detail that went into it, the cake was beautiful, the food was great, thank you-so, so much- to everyone that was involved!

shannon and jennifer

Jennifer wanted to surprise her girlfriend Shannon with an evening spent with yours truly and my lovely assistant for some wonderful and amazing photos of them living it up down town. And even though Shannon guessed what her surprise was before I could coax out their cheesy smiles I'd say all in all we had a pretty good time. I hope you love your pics!
This last photo I couldn't resist posting...I love Shannon's expression here. Greatness!

stephanie and austin

So sorry for the lack of posts here lately everyone, but my internet hasn't been working correctly for the past couple of weeks. Tonight seems to be an exception, so I'm seizing the opportunity to update my blog and try to get some things online.

Okay, I won't make you wait any longer: Congratulations to Stephanie and Austin, a great looking couple and friends of mine (you made the blog!!). They finally got married this past November the 8th, yay! Here are some of my favs...

trick or treat

As we all try to finish off that bag of candy just sitting in the pantry, I thought I'd go ahead and post pics of the boys in their costumes. I hope everyone had a happy Halloween.

Their expressions here are priceless.

Scary faces!!

he man

I'm not quite sure what role he played during the renaissance, but frankly, I don't really need to know. Just don't make any sudden moves. I think he was yelling, "FREEDOM!"

the fall fairy

The Fall Fairy, as I refer to her, with her rich reds and golds was perched just outside the amphitheater. I was passing by when I noticed her and asked for a photo. She humbly posed.

big boy

He introduced himself, asked to be my friend, had me spin his propeller hat, and called my camera a "click box!". Welcome to the norm of the Renaissance festival.

violinist

So, the next few posts will be centered around a recent trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival-please check back, you're in for a treat. This is my cousin's most favorite picture ever!

shelly and brad

I know I've been absent for a while now, but my computer's been sitting in the garage while my home undergoes a slow but steady remodel. But, finally, I'm online again and what a way to start than with Shelly and Brad's wedding. It was beautiful. Congrats you two!

me and ash part II

So, here are some...um, engagements from last Sunday. Taking these pictures was the way I was able to set up the actual proposal. So, she didn't realize these were 'engagments' until later. But, sorry for the delay, here are a few of my favorites.

the ring

So, it's been a bit of a busy week. The news channels all had the DFW area in an uproar over Ike effecting our weather and all these "heavy winds and rain". Well, nothing ever came of it in our area, though let it be known that my heart goes out to those who were effected by the storm... On a lighter note (and the reason for this post) I proposed to Ashley this past Sunday. The photographs from that day are still being edited, but who wants to see the ring!?!
Marty Kneeland of Vinosus Jewelry really came through and custom made an incredible engagement ring! We first met him and his wife at the Main Street Arts Festival in downtown Fort Worth last spring and fell in love with his work. The ring is just beautiful, and I really want to thank him for all his time, talent, and effort. I couldn't be more pleased!! If you want to see more of his jewelry, please check him out at www.vinosus.com.

This is an old picture from the beginnings of the 'Louisiana Project'. Yeah...that's all for today.

khakis

I always get pics of the boys when I visit home in Louisiana. I don't know what inspires me: the surroundings, the atmosphere, the coffee, the country, what...? But I always get pics of 'em. So, here are the latest. Man, they're getting big!!

reading glasses

I'm not one for taking photography and making it look like an oil painting of the ye ol' masters, but this photo sort of lended itself towards it. So, I put a little bit of a painterly, softness to this photograph of my mother's 'reading spot' in her home.

sunset

In front of a wooden basket, back lit by a bright window, against dark wood, I find a sunset hiding in a cup.

dragon lantern

A recent, quick trip to Louisiana always, always, always presents opportunities for photographs; like my mother's home, which is filled to the brim with trinkets, county home decor, odds and ends, antiquities, toys, trussles, tricks, tom-foolery and the like. So, in the next few posts, expect to see a few.

Going back through old photos you can come across old gems...like this one. Hope you like it too. That's all for now.

bench n boots

There are so many photos I've done the past few years...many of those that'll never make it in the final book I'm working toward. So, why not post some outtakes? Like this one of my Dad's boots, and where they're always kept: upside down on the back porch, squeezed between the bench and the wall. A slight bit of humor and a slight bit of home all wrapped up in one photo. That's why I do what I do.

remains

It's been a while since I've posted anything having to do with my Louisiana project. So I dove into the folder on my computer marked 'louisiana' and came up with something. This old vacant chimney's only companion is a wisteria tree that is slowly climbing up and over it. I took several of pictures of this chimney at various angles and liked this one the best. Since it's covered in vine and bush and greenery, the other angles made it hard to tell what it was. But, a little mystery isn't all that bad is it?

vintage greatness

I don't know why, but there's just something about streamline trailers. They. Are. Awesome! Here's one I stole a photo of on the interstate home. Ha, ha! How cool?!

gone fishin'

Took a quick trip to Monroe, Louisiana to visit an old friend of the family. Her land stops at the edge of a huge lake (they actually live on an island) so, the boys and I took to cane fishin' and this is what was bitin':

i'm online!

Sorry I haven't had anything new and cool up lately. Life's been busy. I'm in the middle of remodeling the house and re painting rooms, pulling up carpet, staining floors, y'know. So, haven't been pounding on the shutter button lately, but...soon...

Before that can happen though I've got great news: I'm online!!! Now you can purchase my fine art prints over the Internet. Here's what you do: just scroll down this screen until you see 'online viewing' and click on 'imagequix' which is where clients usually go to view their online pics. Once there, click on 'fine art'. It'll first ask for your email, then a password. The password is simply "online". So, type in online, submit and there you'll be able to look through the fine art prints I've posted on the blog. I'll admit, right now there's only my floral photos. But soon I'll have more up for you guys to peruse and purchase if you want! Right from home! Right now! While you're still in your PJ's!!! Shopping fine art photography from the comfort of your home. aahh, good times, good times... Soon as you place your order it'll be processed through my lab and then delivered right to your door and wa-la! An art piece for the mantel.

Anyway, thanks for visiting the blog. Please check out the pics online and check back soon, I'll have some new stuff up in no time. Thanks again everyone!

rick and misty

Rick and Misty just celebrated their anniversary! So, to mark the occasion they let me follow them around for a night on the town. Rick and Misty are good friends of mine as well, so it was less work and more play, but shouldn't it always feel like that? Anyway, you guys made the blog!! Yesss!

island living

Here's more from our beach vacation! The scenic shots were taken at different times during our trip. But, the photo of the seagull was taken right in front of our little tent/shelter from the sun. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as I am! Take care.

souvenir shop

Why does America come equipped with tourist photo ops such as these? I don't know, but I'm a sucker for them like the rest of us. This is outside a souvenir shop about twenty minutes or so outside of padre island. Yes, we stopped there and went inside...they had dinosaurs on the outside! Who wouldn't!

beach house

Here's another cool beach house right off the coast of South Padre. Not too crazy 'bout the pink...

happy fourth!

No cool fourth of July pics, but here's some more from Padre island. I took so many pictures while down there, the ones you guys are seeing here are just a small pinch. A lot of them I took with film, so I'm just playing the waiting game until I can get those back from the lab. Anyway, enjoy your holiday everyone!
