Even though it rained on the day of our shower, it didn't dampen anyone. I love all the detail that went into it, the cake was beautiful, the food was great, thank you-so, so much- to everyone that was involved!

This last photo I couldn't resist posting...I love Shannon's expression here. Greatness!

Marty Kneeland of Vinosus Jewelry really came through and custom made an incredible engagement ring! We first met him and his wife at the Main Street Arts Festival in downtown Fort Worth last spring and fell in love with his work. The ring is just beautiful, and I really want to thank him for all his time, talent, and effort. I couldn't be more pleased!! If you want to see more of his jewelry, please check him out at www.vinosus.com.

A recent, quick trip to Louisiana always, always, always presents opportunities for photographs; like my mother's home, which is filled to the brim with trinkets, county home decor, odds and ends, antiquities, toys, trussles, tricks, tom-foolery and the like. So, in the next few posts, expect to see a few.
There are so many photos I've done the past few years...many of those that'll never make it in the final book I'm working toward. So, why not post some outtakes? Like this one of my Dad's boots, and where they're always kept: upside down on the back porch, squeezed between the bench and the wall. A slight bit of humor and a slight bit of home all wrapped up in one photo. That's why I do what I do.

No cool fourth of July pics, but here's some more from Padre island. I took so many pictures while down there, the ones you guys are seeing here are just a small pinch. A lot of them I took with film, so I'm just playing the waiting game until I can get those back from the lab. Anyway, enjoy your holiday everyone!
