in the garden
Another from the botanical garden. This image of a pink rose has definitely been through a bit of cosmetic surgery. The original image was horizontal, color, and just lacking something. So, I loaded it into photoshop, cropped it, flipped it, switched to black and white, burned and dodged quite a bit, and came to this-rather breathtaking-conclusion. Hope you guys enjoy it.

a bug's life
I've always liked daisies from the underside, especially with such a blue sky behind them. Especially in full sun so you can see the petals and the shadows they make when they overlap...a lot like in this picture...
Like I said in a previous post, I recently took a quick stroll through the botanical gardens so be prepared for some posts featuring a girl's second favorite thing: flowers.

all hail
So a big storm blew through the Dallas/Fort Worth area a few nights ago with wind, rain, and hail. And when I say hail, I mean it. These pics aren't really technically amazing, but I just had to record what I saw. I've been in Texas for eight years now and have heard about hail storms, but never got to experience one. Hail, like what's pictured, completely covered my yard.
This is the night of...
and this is the morning after. Hail still hadn't melted away from the night before...crazy!

one road town
Welcome to Milsap, a town about forty minutes west of Fort Worth. It's barely a town, really, lacking even official buildings-except for the post office. I don't want to go into a whole lot of detail because I plan on visiting Milsap again soon and photograph it and, hopefully, some of the people who live there. Anyway, here's a preview.

Ashley
"It's beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart."* Here is the girl who has captured mine. It took me seven months to get these shots.
I read somewhere that a portrait (painted portrait) is a way an artist can express how they 'see' the individual they are painting. They can express it through color, tone, expression, and in what way the person in the portrait is portrayed. With a lens, it gets tougher; capturing someones personality, someones essence, but these photos do reveal how I see her: soft, inviting, strong, honest, warm, and always beautiful.
