casa manana

Decided to dig out one of the ol' architecture photos for today. This is the Casa Manana, which is a children's theater in Fort Worth. The building reminds me of Epcot Center in Disney World. A lot of what I love about this photo is the contrast between the light and the dark. I took the photo around three in the afternoon without a cloud in the sky. I couldn't decide whether to expose the photograph to show off the building or the intricate architecture of the roof. Of course I decided on the latter, and love it.

Good choice on the photo. The highlights work perfectly. It's cool how they work individually but also as a bigger pattern as you look at them together.

casa manana is not just a theater for children. they produce all kinds of shows.
started in the 1930s as a dinner/show theater that was almost burlesque. but great photo nonetheless.
