hibiscus

The shot of the day comes from the backyard at the studio I work for. I was testing out the limitations of the macro function on a 28-105 lens with surprising results. There were about a dozen or so extreme close ups of some ivy, some ants, some dollar weed, but I thought that this was the most interesting. The only retouching I did was darken the background to a solid black to help give the flower our undivided attention. I'm not usually a 'nature' or 'flower' photographer, generally I shoot with a certain purpose-or project-in mind. But, this is the only thing I brought home with my camera so I figure I should share it.
